About Us

Russell is a small historic village in the Bay of Islands. The sea side setting and “old world” charm has made the area a popular destination for visitors to the Bay of Islands. Russell is one of New Zealand’s earliest European settlements and today is home to a number of significant heritage buildings including Christ Church, New Zealand’s oldest surviving church still studded with bullet holes in its weatherboards as a result of Hone Hekes siege of the town in 1845.
