The new Mt Roskill station covers an area from Epsom to Hillsborough, bordering the Manukau Harbour, around the coast to Lynfield and includes all of Mt Roskill and parts of Sandringham. It covers approximately twenty square kilometres. The first pump area is mostly high-density housing which ranges from the affluent to extensive state housing. There are several commercial, retail and office locations and some industrial parks.

The second pump response area exposes the station to multiple risks between the south central and south Auckland region borders. The station attends approximately 400 calls per year.
