About Us

Hawera has within its gazetted fire district the largest dairy factory in the Southern region hemisphere that employs approximately 700.

Other industries include Richmond Meat works and Swift Energy with major oil and gas coming on line. Hawera has Okaiawa brigade as an auxiliary unit and backs up Patea, Okaiawa, Manaia and Eltham on a 1st and 2nd alarm.

Hawera is a town in South Taranaki, the nearest town is Manaia approximately 14kms away. The town has a population of around 9,060 (urban area only) and the town consists of industrial/commercial and private dwellings.
