Stratford and Waitara are the neighbouring brigades. Within the district are logging, engineering, petrochemical production and plastics manufacturing industries.
Inglewood is a medium size rural township, 18 km south of New Plymouth. Urban population is 3500. In the rural area are a number of chicken farms and dairy farms.
