About Us

The major hazards in Kaponga are Dawson Falls Tourist Lodge, Konini Lodge (accommodating up to 50-60 on a regular basis), five schools in the rural area, and petrochemical and lactose industries. Other risks we have identified are our local school and hall.

The brigade is supported by the Eltham Brigade and Manaia Brigade, which is about 14kms away.

Kaponga is a small town situated south of Mt Egmont, midway between Eltham and Opunake with a population of about 500-600 people. The town building profile is predominantly residential with a small CBD with mostly light industrial to service the rural community.
