The hazards in Levin District are the light to medium commercial and industrial premises, rest homes, hospitals (medical, handicapped and disable), large forestry lumberyards, farming grain stores etc, chemical factory, traffic problems on SH 1 and 57 plus the main truck rail line north and south, and the extending rural lifestyle blocks.
Levin is a large town situated in the Horowhenua District with a population of 15,231 people. The town's building profile is predominantly residential with a light to medium CBS servicing the surrounding town and rural community. The town centre contains a large retail area including two shopping malls and office blocks.
