About Us

The major hazards in Patea are the Patea Dam, derelict cool stores, empty hospital complex (including nurses homes and two large two-storey buildings), gas transmission lines and four gates, railway line, motor vehicle accidents and the Waverley earthquake fault line.

The brigade is supported by the Hawera Brigade, which is about 30kms away.

Patea is a small town situated south east of Hawera with a population of about 1,500 people. The town building profile is predominantly residential with a small CBD with mostly light industrial to service the rural community.
