About Us

Major hazards are our marae which has a special historic and religious significance. Other risks are SH3 and staffing problems.

Ratana are supported by the Wanganui and Marton Brigades which are 20kms and 12kms away from us.

Ratana is a stand alone village based 20kms south of Wanganui, 6kms from the coast. The town building profile is predominantly residential with a temple, Marae community buildings (hall and sleeping quarters), school, two shops, Kaumatua flats, museum and fire station.
