The major hazards in Taihape are a large college (outside town), two large primary schools, rest home, area hospital, incept marine, and wool store. Other risks we have identified are SH1.
The brigade is supported by Mangaweka which is 22kms, and Waiouru which is 30kms.
Taihape is a large town situated on SH1, 30kms south of Waiouru. It has a population of approximately 2000 people. The town building profile is predominantly residential with a small CBD with mostly light industry to service the rural community.
