The major hazards in Waverley are gas lines, local high school and primary school, racecourse, sawmill, forestry, catholic church, and rugby club. Other risks identified are hotels, three community halls, grain silos, and motor vehicle accidents on SH 3.
The brigade is supported by the Waitotara Brigade which is about 10kms away, and the Patea Brigade which is about 16kms away.
Waverley is a small town situated 45kms north-west of Wanganui with a population of approximately 1,000 people. The town building profile is predominantly residential with a small CBD with mostly light industrial to service the rural community.
