New Zealand Fire Service Safety Summit

The inaugural New Zealand Fire Service Safety Summit is being held on 24 and 25 August 2015 at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington.  The New Zealand Fire Service is co-hosting this event with the New Zealand Professional Fire Fighters Union and United Fire Brigades’ Association.

Two hundred and fifty people are expected to attend the Summit, with the majority being frontline staff from the New Zealand Fire Service who have been nominated by the five Fire Region Managers.  Delegates have also been put forward by the UFBA, NZPFU, National Rural Fire Authority, Police, St John, New Zealand Defence Force and Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management. This broad group of attendees represents the Fire Service’s vision of adopting an integrated approach to delivering emergency services in New Zealand.

The Summit will feature speakers who will cover critical themes such as leadership and psychological safety.  There will also be interactive workshops where attendees will be able to share their own knowledge and experience.

For any questions, contact Renee Paul at renee.paul@fire.org.nz or (04) 462 4985.
