The board of the NZ Fire Service Commission is appointed by the Minister of Internal Affairs. Terms of appointment are usually for three years and members are eligible for reappointment.

First appointed in July 2011. Angela has held several senior management positions, most recently Deputy Secretary of the Treasury. She is currently a self-employed consultant specialising in change management. Angela is also on the Board of the IPCA and a lay member of the Health Practitioners and NZICA Disciplinary Tribunals.
Appointed in October 2012. A former Area Commander and current Deputy Mayor of Whanganui. Rangi Wills took early retirement from the Fire Service in 1995 after a 34 year career. He currently serves on many Whanganui community boards and committees and is a former member of the Whanganui District Health Board.
Wyatt was born in California, USA on 13 October 1946. He moved to New Zealand with his family in early 1947 and grew up on the family farm in the South Wairarapa.
He attended Massey University (Diploma in Sheepfarming) and Victoria University, Wellington where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, before going overseas, which included including travelling overland from Calcutta to London and a year staying with his father’s family in North Carolina.
On his return from overseas, Wyatt worked on the family farm in the Wairarapa and then worked in Masterton as an accountant, studying by distance learning.
Before his parliamentary career, he was involved in the development of the wine industry in Martinborough.
Wyatt entered Parliament in 1988. He was an MP for 14 years, including nine as a Minister. He served in a wide variety of portfolios (Education, Health, Deputy Finance, Revenue and many others) and finally attained the position of Deputy Prime Minister.
For four terms he represented Wairarapa as the constituency MP and spent one term on the National Party List.
Following retirement from politics, Wyatt returned to the commercial sector, as well as serving on a number of boards. He was appointed to the Fire Service Commission in September 2009.
First appointed December 2010. Vicki is a self-employed contractor based in Auckland with extensive experience in human resource management in large public and private sector organisations.
First appointed October 2009. Dave is a former President of the United Fire Brigades' Association and a long time member of the Renwick Volunteer Fire Brigade and Chief Fire Officer of the fire district. He has a background in NZ Defence Force fire services, building construction and management of major capital and operating projects.
