FAIP Roles and Responsibilities 

Overview

 

The roles within the FAIP Programme include:

  • National FAIP Manager
  • National FAIP Management Team
  • FAIP National Administrator
  • FAIP Regional Co-ordinator
  • FAIP Regional Administration Assistant
  • FAIP Practitioner
  • Two psychologists are engaged to provide advice to the programme, deliver training and provide health supervision of all FAIP members

    The programme is supported by two resident psychologists - Ricky Tan and Dr Ian Lambie. They provide the mandatory psychological supervision of all practitioners once a year. They also take part in practitioner training and are regular speakers at the annual national conference. Ian and Ricky are also a valuable resource for practitioners dealing with a particularly difficult case, or where they may require the advice of a psychologist to better assist the client.

The function of each role is discussed in greater detail below:

 

FAIP Practitioner

  • Interview and assess client
  • Provide specific fire education intervention
  • Liaise with other agencies
  • Refer to other agencies
  • Attend Family Group Conferences
  • Work with family and whanau groups
  • Completion of documentation online

FAIP Regional Co-ordinator

  • Case Management including case allocation
  • Produce regional reports
  • Investigate and report on regional fire patterns
  • Liaise with police, government agencies and community groups
  • Coordinate regional FAIP training
  • Answer public enquiries
  • Actively promote FAIP within the region

FAIP Regional Administration Assistant

  • Maintain regional database
  • Answer public enquiries
  • Support FAIP Practitioners

National FAIP Manager

  • Lead FAIP management team
  • Oversee production of and update training materials
  • Research into local and international best practice
  • Produce new strategies
  • National level liaison with other agencies/consulting psychologists
  • Formal national reporting
  • Manage programme budget

National FAIP Management Team

  • manage individual reference (resources, communications, IT and Web)
  • Support National FAIP Manager
  • Attend regional training meetings
  • Attend national management team meetings

FAIP National Administrator

  • Maintain national database
  • Administrative support
  • Support national conference preparations
