Issue 82

In the August issue we look a the new frontline fire fighting tool in Christchurch– foam. Foam uses less water to put out a structure fire and in the shaky city, water mains are not as reliable as they used to be.

There’s also a look at two newly opened stations in Auckland, and a peek at the new firefighters’ helmet that will start to be introduced later this year. We launch a home fire safety check DVD for the public and those with hearing or sight impairments and talk to some enthusiastic new recruits.
