The Fire Service has no evidence to suggest CFC bulbs pose any different or greater risk than conventional incandescent bulbs. The Fire Service will continue to monitor callout statistics and will report any changes in this position.

The Fire service also advises purchasers of CFC bulbs to carefully read the instructions on the packaging to ensure they are installed and used only as directed.
