Pahiatua fire brigade attended a crash that claimed the life of one of their own on Sunday. Anthony Jury, 49, died at the scene of a collision between his motorbike and a Holden Commodore on Makamako Rd, near Mangahao. His 45-year-old pillion passenger was flown to Palmerston North Hospital by the Square Trust rescue helicopter and is in a stable condition. Mr Jury was a volunteer firefighter and owner of Tony Jury Motorcycles in Pahiatua.
