Firefighters were called when Alexandra's mobile coffee unit burst into flames.
Alexandra's mobile coffee shop was destroyed by fire yesterday.
The Shot is a mobile espresso coffee business operating from the back of a custom-built car.
Fire chief Russell Anderson said the car was parked at a property in Orchard Dr before 8am.
Worker Shirlene Steel lit the gas-fuelled coffee machine for the morning run as usual but after a few minutes she saw smoke billowing out the back of the car.
She pushed the car out of the garage and tried to put the flames out with a fire extinguisher.
However, the fire began to spread and firefighters had to be called.
'It was a bit scary,' Ms Steel said.
Mr Anderson said firefighters quickly had the fire under control.
However, the car was 'pretty well damaged' by the time he got there.
'Obviously the gas in the machine set fire to something in the back of the machine,' Mr Anderson said.
The back window was smashed and plastics in the front of the car had melted.
The mobile espresso coffee business was recently put up for sale.
Ms Steel said the owner, Vivien Sangster, was overseas. Fire safety officers would be investigating.
