1. Competition Details 

 

The promotion commences on Monday 1 December 2014 and finishes at 5pm on Tuesday 30 December 2014.   
Answers should be text to 8442 to complete the sentence correctly as shown on Dunedin Television, Channel 39.
You may enter as many times as you like, standard text charges will apply for each entry (Vodafone 20c, Spark 20c, 2degrees 9c & Skinny Mobile 8c)

 

2. Prize Draw 

 

All entries will go into the prize draw which will be held on Monday 12 January 2015 and the winners will be advised (delete by text here) that day. The names of the winners will be listed on www.fire.org.nz/competitions.

 

3. The Prizes 

A prize winner will be drawn from entries received via the 8442 text service that have entered the correct answer to the entry question.
Each prize is for two people and will consist of:

  • A Home Fire Safety Check conducted by Fire Service personnel
  • Installation of (up to six) long-life wirelessly interconnectable smoke alarms (valued at $600 NZD)

 

4. Liability 

4.1 Under no circumstances will the New Zealand Fire Service be responsible or liable for any direct, incidental, special, consequential, indirect or punitive damages or loss resulting from winning the prize.

 

4.1.1 Any problems and/or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email on account of technical problems and/or traffic congestion on the Internet and/or at any website or combination of thereof, including injury or damage to you or any other persons computer related to and/or resulting from participation in this competition or other error of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic.

 

4.1.2 Any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft and/or destruction and/or unauthorised access to, and/or alteration of entries.

 

4.1.3 Any entries not properly or accurately transmitted, received or processed due to any cause whatsoever.

 

4.1.4 Any loss or damage howsoever suffered or for personal injury suffered or sustained as a result of the taking, participating or use of any prize.

 

4.1.5 Any delay, cancellation or other failure to conduct the competition for any reason whatsoever.

 

4.1.6 In the event any portion of this competition is compromised by causes beyond the control of the New Zealand Fire Service which, in the sole opinion of the New Zealand Fire Service, impairs the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the competition, the New Zealand Fire Service reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend or terminate the competition or any part of the competition.  

 

5. Publicity & Prizes 

5.1 All prize winners agree to the use of their name on the winners' list without any further compensation and for their name and/or photograph to be used for publicity and promotional purposes without any further compensation.

 

5.2 All entries become the property of the New Zealand Fire Service. All entries will be entered into a database.

 

5.3 Information held on the fire.org.nz website or other competition collection sites/services is secure and will not be disclosed to any third parties.

 

5.4 The National Headquarters of New Zealand Fire Service is located on Level 12, PO Box 2133, Wellington, New Zealand. 

 

5.5 The prize is not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.


6. Eligibility 

6.1 Entry is only open to people who currently live in New Zealand. Employees and families (civilian or operational, career or volunteer) of the New Zealand Fire Service are ineligible to enter. Entering under different user names or memberships will make all that entrant's entries invalid.

 

6.2 All prize winners will be notified by e-mail. The prize winners in return will have to supply requested details, such as postal address for prize distribution, within two days by return e-mail. Failure to do so will mean the prize will be forfeited.

 

6. 3 The prize allocation is final on all matters relating to this promotion and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

7. Privacy 

Any personal information you supply will remain completely confidential between you and the New Zealand Fire Service. This means that any information collected will not be shared with any other parties, and will only be used for contacting you about the competition.
