This project used a statistical modelling approach to determine if vegetation flammability and wildfire hazard indices can predict fire extent. The objective was to test if the national, daily updated maps of fire hazard indices provided by the National Rural Fire Authority (NRFA), with and without vegetation flammability information, could accurately predict the extent of historical wildfires.
