Project Re-kindled
This research follows on from the qualitative study conducted by Research International in 2010 titled: “Applying the Conversion Model to Changing At Risk Groups Attitudes Towards Fire Safety”. The qualitative piece identified consequences other than death that could be used to encourage New Zealanders to adopt better practices around fire safety. It also identified barriers which prevent people from acting in a fire safe manner. The purpose of this research was to provide a springboard for creative development that encourages fire safety behaviours and in doing so reduces the incidence and consequences of fire in New Zealand. Essentially this research is to provide a prioritised list of actions and messages that will impact the greatest number of people to use going forward.
