Our recruiting round for career firefighters for this year is now closed. The next recruitment round is likely to be early 2008. That round will be for filling vacancies on a recruits course from July 2008. Please DO NOT forward your application until the next round is open since you may have additional information to include by then.

Prior to our recruitment rounds we run recruitment open days in Auckland , Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin where you can test yourself against our physical fitness tests for free. These days are not formally assessed and our staff will be on hand to provide guidance as to where improvement can be made. For more detail on open days click here for more detail

Physical Testing and Training Information - This six week training program will help you prepare for the demands of the Physical Pre-entry Test. Make sure that you have had a medical clearance from your physician before you begin this training program
Cognitive Test Examples - These are EXAMPLES ONLY (courtesy of West Australian Police) of the cognitive tests. The actual tests, which will take approximately an hour and a half to complete collectively, do get progressively more difficult.
